Agni's mixer was fun. Lighting was shit though. Overall, just did the usual mixer stuff. Keven never ended up editing or sending me the pics he took at mixer but oh well.

Saw some familiar faces from comps long ago and got to catch up with Nithya, a dancer on Dhoom who was my best friend during freshman year.

Show Photography

The pics I got to take at show were probably some of the best I've ever taken. I used my Nikon Z6iii with a 50mm f/1.4 G adapted using an FTZ adapter. I shot mostly individual vertical pictures and a few horizontal ones here and there when the formations got tight. In between sets, I would change Keven's camera battery because he couldn't do it himself when wearing that big giant vest thing.

Prime lenses are definitely the way to go for dance comps where the lighting is ass.

Show Videography

Ended up going with a pretty unusual setup at this venue. The mezzanine was pretty far away from the tech booth, so they weren't able to run XLR up there, and I didn't trust a Hollyland wireless transmitter to work at that distance. Instead, the venue staff routed an SDI cable all the way around their house to a station near the stage where we had our livestream setup. Alongside that, we had an SDI of the projection, and a wireless transmitter from the front row camera (operated by Keven) to the stream.

The stream was controlled by the Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro into OBS on my laptop.

Overall, things went pretty seamless once we had everything setup. The SDI of the projection allowed us to switch to that for intro videos so timing was never an issue. The backrow was lowkeeeyyyy kinda out of focus but we'll make sure to check it twice before starting stream.
